The idea
Engineers merge risky PRs at 5pm Friday because the reviewer who actually understands the touched code is heads-down on something else. Oncall Review Buddy reads the diff, the relevant CHANGELOG entries, the failing-test history of every file, and the calendar of the eng most familiar with the area — then DMs them a single Slack message: 'this PR touches the billing webhook, last edited by you 11 days ago, has 3 prior P0s tied to similar changes, and is queued to deploy at 17:42 today — green-light or block.' Proof it can be real: deploy-risk scoring is a deterministic blend of commit history, ownership graph, test flakiness, and on-call calendar — no novel ML required.
